One Torah. One People.
At the holiest moment on the holiest day of the year, as our community gathered for Yom Kippur services, we witnessed as our dear Rabbi and his family learned of the sudden and tragic passing of their beautiful 3 month old granddaughter, Ita OB”M.
Jewish tradition teaches us that “V’Hachai Yiten El Libo,” (The Living shall take to heart”). The Jewish people are inspired and encouraged to channel their loss into positive action. Ita was a pure, beautiful soul. Therefore what greater tribute is there to Ita’s memory than writing a Torah – the holiest article in Jewish life – in her honor.
Ita’s Unity Torah will unite Jews from every walk of life, and affirm how grief can be transformed into a positive force. The completed Torah will serve as a powerful source of blessing for Ita’s pristine soul, her family and the entire community at large.
It is our great honor to come together as a community and honor this pure neshama (soul), by strengthening the bond between our people… Am Yisrael.
