Dear Friends,
One of the most sacred values we hold as Jews is the importance of memory. We do not turn away from the past - we embrace it, learn from it, and carry it forward. Through Yizkor, we honor the souls of our loved ones who have passed, keeping their light alive in our lives.
Yizkor is recited four times a year - on Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Passover and Shavuot - and offers us a powerfully spiritual connection to those no longer with us. In these moments of prayer, we ask G-d to remember their souls, and we pledge Tzedakah (charity) in their honor, transforming our remembrance into an act of love, meaning, and blessing. In doing so, we merge our two worlds - their eternal legacy with our daily lives.
As we prepare for the High Holidays, we will once again be publishing a Yizkor Book of Remembrance. This booklet will include traditional prayers and tributes, along with the names of our loved ones submitted by members of the community. These names will be lovingly recited in our synagogue during all four Yizkor services throughout the year.
To participate, please fill out the form below with a Tzedakah donation of $54 per name, which will help support our community and honor those who live on in our hearts.
May the memories of our loved ones continue to bless and inspire us.
With heartfelt blessings, for a happy, healthy and sweet new year.
Rabbi Shlomo
